Mr. Rodney Dale Culpepper, age 66, of Sylvania, AL. passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at DeKalb Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 1:00 pm In Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Earnest Corbitt officiating. Burial will follow in Straight Creek Church of God Cemetery. Rodney was the 2nd Child of Mable & Billy Culpepper. He graduated from Sylvania High School in 1977. Rodney married in 1989 and his wife Michele and their two children, Miranda and Zach were the joys of his life. One of his achievements was being #72 for the Sylvania Rams in High School and he was an All-County Lineman his Senior year. Football was his passion and he was a huge Alabama fan. He especially enjoyed game days and all the banter between family members over who won or lost. His hobbies as he aged was spending time with his children and grand children and going to Ta-Co-Bet trade Day with his brother Mark. They loved competing and bragging about who got the best deal that day (Tools, Car parts, etc.) Rodney was retired, with the satisfaction that he had worked a variety of jobs and was very skilled. He enjoyed his brief career working on oil rigs. He decided to take a different path, after experiencing how dangerous that occupation was. Rodney discovered his expertise was in construction and carpenter work. He assisted in building many commercial and residential properties. He never really retired though, he was always “on call” and happy to help family and friends with home renovations and small electrical jobs. Rodney loved family. He loved spending time with family and sharing memories. We will forever miss him and hold him dear to our hearts. Thank you For all of the prayers, phone calls, visitations, words of encouragement, flowers… For all the times throughout his life in which you showed him love, kindness and support. Each expression is greatly appreciated!
